She related that they would get totally involved in the games. She would point out how the games mirrored real life. Tough games equals tough life.

In the image we see seven children, the children are acting as one while playing the game, “Little Sally Walker”. The children chant, “Little Sally Walker, setting in a saucer, rise Sally rise, wipe your weeping eyes, put your hands on your hips, let your backbone slip, baby shake it to the east, baby shake it to the west, baby shake it to the one that You love the best.” With that the center person indicates the new center person that will in turn select the next center person until the game ends.

Our Mother, Joan Dance had many of these stories from her childhood, from the tender age of five or six she was involved with the neighborhood youth, which were mostly her cousins, playing various childhood games. It would seem that as time passed, these games turned into real life.

The Four Siblings

The Artist Joan Dance had a total of five children and it is often said that she had us all before the tender age of twenty-one. After raising us to self-sufficiency, she then had time to explore her talents. She tried her hand at quilting and crafts before settling in to painting her memories for quite a time.

Donna, Eddie, Debra, and Dameta, the Fantastic Four, so to speak, wish to humbly introduce ourselves. We are the children of the Artist Joan Dance. There is another child that will be cared for by us four, but Joan wanted that child to remain out of the managing of her works.

We remain humble because we realize that we did not make ourselves, but the Lord God did make us and placed us here for as long as He would have us to be here.
