Welcome to Joan Dance Paintings where you can view the paintings of the artist Joan Dance. On today we have for your viewing pleasure the image, “Blue Monday”.
This image reminds us of the days that Monday was reserved for weekly cleaning, and was then referred to as “Blue Monday”.
Washing those clothes cleansed away the dirt and grime that had accumulated from wearing them while walking through this life.
In this world we ourselves also accumulate dirt and grime in the form of sins. Sins are against God and against us as well.
On today we make the promise that you yourself can be completly cleansed. You can be cleansed of the sins that you have committed against yourself and also against the Lord God.
Picture yourself without the sins that have been committed, both sins committed by you, and also sins committed by not doing what needed to be done. By having those sins washed away, you are now able to stand before God the Father and communicate with the King of the Universe.
We read in the Holy Scriptures that if we confess our sins then the Lord God is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
We have the power to confess our sins and the Lord God has the power to forgive us of the sins that we have sinned against Him and against ourselves.
He already knows all that we have done, so the confession is not for Him, the confession is for us.
The second beatitude states, Blessed are those that morne for they shall be conforted. When we morne over those sins, the comforting is the forgiveness.
Confession brings about forgiveness.
